Responsibilities

Job summary:

Facilitates patient scheduling including phone calls to fill canceled appointments and reminder calls. Responsible for patient check-in and discharge including collecting and updating patient information,

completing computerized patient files, and assisting with referrals and patient education.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Schedules and registers patient of the Children's Dental Clinic.

  • Coordinates, evaluates, and modifies schedules. Contacts families by phone to schedule dental appointments. Calls to confirm appointments.

  • Works proactively to manage the daily clinic schedule including changes, cancellations and reschedules.

  • Creates patient file and provides adequate notes in Dentrix system by documenting medical history updates, previous dental visits, and any account-related communication.

  • Ensures that patient handouts are being given out and explained (i.e.: Patient Rights and Responsibilities, Advance Directives etc)

  • Completes check-out procedures for patients at Children's Dental Clinic.

  • Ensures correct forms are filled out and signed for each registration and consent forms. Ensures forms are signed by parents and staff prior to scanning.

  • Provides oral health education, follow-up and home care instruction. Completes referrals to restorative and orthodontic programs.

  • Prints x-rays and ensures PHI release forms are complete and accurate.

  • Assists when needed for support/relief throughout department where trained.

  • Willing to work other shifts, weekends, etc. as needed.

  • Follows department and organizational policies/procedures, supports processes and operations of department and organization, and adheres to all compliance and regulatory agency standards.

  • Responds to telephone inquiries quickly and appropriately in a manner that addresses the needs of the caller. Identifies department and self when answering phone.

Qualifications

Minimum:

Experience:

One year relevant experience required.

Experience in community outreach programs, working with low-income families and children of various ethnic groups preferred

Education:

HS graduate or equivalent combination of experience and/or education

Special Skills:

Fingerprint required within 3 months of hire

Bilingual Spanish.

Pay Range

$18.00 - $20.38 /hour
