Dignity Health @ Mercy Hospital of Folsom is the community hospital serving the Sierra foothills communities of Folsom El Dorado Hills Granite Bay Cameron Park Shingle Springs and Rescue. With 106 licensed acute-care beds our accredited non-profit hospital has been providing exceptional care for more than 35 years. Mercy Hospital of Folsom provides surgical services including minimally-invasive general urological and gynecological surgeries. We also provide comprehensive and award-winning orthopedic services which include surgery inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation and specialty orthopedic care. As a certified Joint Commission Stroke Center Mercy Folsom provides exceptional care to our patients in our Medical Surgical and Intensive Care units as well as our 25-bed Emergency Department. Our Family Birth Center features private and contemporary birthing suites where labor delivery and recovery occur in one room as well as award-winning lactation training and support. Mercy Folsom received Among America’s 250 Best Hospitals recognition and is a Primary Stroke Center.

Responsibilities

As the Director of the Emergency Services at Mercy Hospital of Folsom, you will help patients receive the highest standard of care, improve patient experiences and ensure the team delivers quality care within our 25-bed Emergency department. At the same time, you will advocate for your team by bringing any issues, requests, or new ideas from them to leadership.

Every day you will lead a clinical team (nurses & aides) and inspire them to put our patients' needs first. You will take pride in the quality of care we provide. You will have oversight of regulatory compliance, staffing, and fiscal responsibility. To thrive in this role, you must be competent and confident. Utilizing your excellent communication skills one-on-one and in front of groups, you will tackle tough conversations and, above all, be an educator at heart. Every interaction is an opportunity to share your knowledge with others and improve their understanding of a patient's needs, the nursing staff's, or the organization's needs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a department of clinical staff, ensuring everyone has what they need to deliver the best care possible to our patients.

  • Engage with the floor. Talk to the nurses, the patients, and families. Keep your finger on the pulse of your department so you can keep things running smoothly.

  • Attend meetings with leadership to learn about new initiatives, budgetary status, areas for improvement, etc., and bring this information back to your team of nurses.

  • Monitor productivity and efficiency of your department, including budgets. We want to achieve the best throughput while never compromising on care.

  • Mentor people on your team. Share your knowledge and confidence with staff, other employees and others.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent education and experience AND Master’s degree in nursing or other-related field (e.g. MSN/MBA/MHA)

  • Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience and three (3) years of nurse leadership experience.

  • Current CA RN license

  • Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS certification

Pay Range

$65.48 - $94.95 /hour
