About this opportunity:
The MM I is responsible for reporting daily to the supervisor the general condition of the facility and progress of work being accomplished. Carries out the responsibility of the House Engineer as assigned. Completes calls for that day and communicates with the Engineer coming on duty any outstanding issues. Takes responsibility for the maintenance and safety of environmental areas assigned. Does wall patching, plaster, painting, floor repairs, drain cleaning, minor plumbing, bed and furniture repairs, fax repairs, light bulb and ballast replacement, door repairs, and other building maintenance tasks as needed or assigned. Completes building maintenance work orders within specified deadline dates. Verifies that customers are communicated with regarding established deadlines to ensure their expectations are met. Performs corrective and preventative building maintenance and environmental rounds as assigned. Properly documents daily work performance on time. Makes entries into appropriate logs and journals. Ensures high quality output of services, the efficient use of resources, and a safe work environment that meets all government and regulatory guidelines.
Two years prior experience in general maintenance, related to the specific skills used on the job. Good communication skills required. Ability to function unsupervised, working knowledge of hand tools, and general knowledge of methods & materials used in building maintenance. Position represented by CHEU
Two to five year mechanical, electrical, steam boiler, building maintenance, or HVAC background required, preferably in healthcare environment. Must be mobile on ladders, arc-welding experience. Operate: drill press, metal saws, 1/4? to 1/2? drain snake, actaline torch operation, alloy and silver solder application.
