Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital has proudly served as the sole healthcare provider for western Nevada County for more than 50 years. Much has happened since the hospital opened in 1958, including additions in 1994 of a 68,000 square foot Outpatient Center, a comprehensive Cancer Center and most recently, the opening of the Sierra Nevada Diagnostic Center in the fall of 2006. SNMH is a licensed, acute care hospital providing a full range of services including cardiovascular, surgical, emergency and diagnostic. SNMH offers access to the SNMH Health Sciences Library. The library features continuing and medical education for healthcare professionals, diabetes classes, prenatal classes, cancer support groups, and family caregiver classes. In addition, we have more than 90 board certified primary and specialty care physicians on our active and associate medical staff.


The RN in this position provides advanced professional nursing care to patients in varying states of health and illness through assessment, planning, implementation, collaboration and evaluation of the patient's health needs. The ATC RN provides direct care to patients and families, as well as teaching and preparation for continuing care. Organizational and Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Standards of Patient Care and Nursing Practice guide the delivery of nursing services by this individual. The position demonstrates dedication to professional growth and development and to the continuous improvement of patient care.


2 yrs. Chemotherapy outpatient experience and /or 2 yrs. Hospital Oncology inpatient experience required. ONS-Mandatory Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Program Completion Provides basic nursing care and administers Chemotherapy to patients following accepted nursing standards.

PICC Line Certificate and Proof of Experience of Placement preferred

AA degree in nursing from an accreditedschool of nursing. BSN preferred.

Ability to work in an environment of frequent interruptions. Computer skills are required. Strong IV initiation skills. Experience with the care and maintenance of PICC lines, Portacaths, Hickman catheters, Groshong catheters. Ability to read, speak and write English.

Current California State RN license or interim permit, Current BLS Healthcare Provider AHA
