Responsibilities

Supervisor for Flow cytometry

JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE

Ensures completion of workload for Phlebotomy and Clinical Laboratory, to maintain efficient and effective operation of

the Laboratory and to provide quality patient care.

ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supervises assigned staff to include recruitment, hiring, evaluating, development, compensating, corrective action

and discharge

  1. Ensures staffing level necessary to complete workload and produce results to provide quality patient care

  2. Assists in accumulating and revising data for productivity

  3. Reviews clinical test results for completion and accuracy with special attention to abnormal results. Consults section

managers/pathologists as needed to verify abnormal results

  1. Ensures performance/documentation of preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Review data to

monitor documentation and developing problems. Alert managers/pathologists to problems and recommend solutions

6.Ensures that appropriate equipment and supplies are available to carry out the function of each section

7.Maintains records of all clinical test procedures conducted in each section as required by JCAHO, CAP and other

regulatory agencies

8.Financial responsibility includes: cost containment efforts over payroll, equipment and supplies

9.Addresses Clinical/Anatomical Pathology concerns according to section procedures; Consults section

managers/pathologists/administrator to provide laboratory data needed to provide quality patient care

Qualifications

Flow cytometry experience required

Required Education and Experience

*Bachelor's Degree

  • Three (3) years of clinical experience as a Medical

Technologist; one year may be substituted with a Master’s

Degree

  • One (1) year of supervisory experience

Required Licensure and Certifications

*Medical Technologist – ASCP, ASMT or equivalent

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

and Training

  • Good oral communication skills

  • Able to provide guidance and direction to staff

  • Able to assist hospital staff, patients, and visitors

Pay Range

$33.60 - $48.73 /hour
