JOB SUMMARY (Brief Statement summarizing main functions and purpose of the job):

The Fundraising Coordinator, under the direction of the President/VP of Philanthropy of the Northridge Hospital Foundation (NHF), is responsible for overseeing and growing a comprehensive Annual Giving Program for Northridge Hospital Foundation, including the coordination and oversight of supporting initiatives in the area of development services and donor relations. The Fundraising Coordinator is also responsible for the overall management of a comprehensive gift processing and acknowledgement program. In addition, he/she will be responsible for the coordination of all activities related to the NHF Board for Directors, database management and coordination of donor services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List essential functions in order of responsibility):

  • Coordinates an Annual Giving Program involving, targeted email campaigns, direct mail, personal phone calls, patient visits, volunteer engagement, donor clubs and stewardship programs.

  • Coordinates fundraising programs specific to the Hospital including Employee Giving, Annual Gifts, donor cultivation and stewardship programs, under the strategic guidance of the VP of Philanthropy.

  • Oversees all donor database management services, including gift entries and gift acknowledgements.

  • Responsible for ongoing coordination and communication of all NHF finance and accounting recording, including monthly fund transfers, performed by assigned Corporate representative.

  • Provides support to donors and Board members and is responsible for the communication of project deliverables and timelines.

  • Coordinates other fundraising projects and related duties as requested by VP of Philanthropy.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING (include Licenses and Professional Affiliations):

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or a combination of education and/or additional job-related experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.

Experience : Minimum (2) two years of fundraising / donor stewardship experience required, with prior database management experience required. Demonstrated success in acquiring gifts in all facets of annual giving, or previous experience in sales, marketing or related experience required.

Specialized Training: Proficient in computer applications, i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, CRM or equivalent fundraising software required. Demonstrated strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and experience in writing compelling case statements and correspondence required.
