Nurse Shift Manager
Job Summary: Plans the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit during an assigned shift. Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift. Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient’s condition and the employee’s skill level. Anticipates staffing neds and moves proactively to respond to them. Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts. Assesses, monitors and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary. Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them. Provides nursing care to patients on an as needed basis. Incumbents in this position shall comply with all applicable laws and rules including the Dignity Health Standards of Conduct and Dignity Health policies and procedures that apply to his/her job responsibilities, seek guidance when in doubt, promptly report any potential or suspected violation of Dignity Health Standards of Conduct, Dignity Health policy or procedure or applicable laws/regulations and when requested, assist Dignity Health personnel in investigating all allegations of violation. When called upon, the incumbent shall assist in risk evaluation and work collaboratively with facility/entity leaders to implement, monitor and mitigate risk corrective plans outlined by the Compliance program

Experience : Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse.
Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing (e.g. ADN)
Licensure: CA Registered Nursing License, Basic Life Support (BLS)
