Responsibilities

The incumbent provides, coordinates and directs care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. Assesses patient/family health problems and resources, takes a leadership role in the development, implementation and outcomes evaluation of a plan for nursing care provided by the nursing team. Provides technical nursing care and interventions to designated patient populations. This position requires providing service to an adult population in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other practitioners as required and adjust nursing care processes as indicated to unsure optimal patient care

  • Implements patient histories, assesses patient's conditions, and develops individualized care plans for assigned patients. Documents on care plans as patient care evolves, including resolutions of problems

  • Assesses patient educational needs and barriers to learning to implements patient education and documents teaching

  • Administers and controls narcotics and medications accurately and in a timely manner and signs out narcotics and medications according to hospital policy

  • Maintains accurate documentation of patient's progress, nursing care, records and reports

  • Follows all Core Measures requirements and documents

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • One (1) year acute care experience required

  • Graduate of an RN School of Nursing.

  • Chemotherapy certified through ONS required OR obtained within 90 days of employment into the position. The cost shall be paid for by Mark Twain Hospital.

  • CA - RN; CT CPRBLS; CT ACLS

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

  • One (1) year oncology/chemotherapy experience preferred.

  • CA - OCN, within 90 days

Pay Range

$60.37 - $76.25 /hour
