Responsibilities
Position Summary
Our Staff Nurse performs the nursing process through assessment planning implementation and evaluation of safe therapeutic care for patients with overt and covert needs appropriate to patient age. Assists with managing the patient care administered by other members of the nursing staff. Assumes responsibility and accountability of total patient care and relief charge nurse duties.
The Staff Nurse position treats/cares for patients of all ages.
Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other practitioners as required and adjust nursing care processes as indicated to unsure optimal patient care
Implements patient histories, assesses patient's conditions, and develops individualized care plans for assigned patients. Documents on care plans as patient care evolves, including resolutions of problems
Assesses patient educational needs and barriers to learning to implements patient education and documents teaching
Administers and controls narcotics and medications accurately and in a timely manner and signs out narcotics and medications according to hospital policy
Maintains accurate documentation of patient's progress, nursing care, records and reports
Follows all Core Measures requirements and documents

Qualifications
Minimum
Current California RN license required
Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Assoc.
Six (6) months or more of experience in acute care required
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Pay Range
$60.37 - $76.25 /hour
