Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Upon referral provides professional physical therapy services including evaluations, planning individual patient care programs and treatments. Demonstrates/uses current knowledge of principles and practices of Physical Therapy. Participates in job related departmental functions as an integral member of the patient care team.

1.1 Evaluates patients accurately and comprehensively and in accordance with professional standards by administering appropriate tests to determine impairment and functional disabilities.

1.2 Develops an effective plan of care to include appropriate short and long-term goals, effective treatment plans, and therapeutic goals based on evaluation results and physician diagnosis.

1.3 Organizes the patient care time to meet established treatment goals by appropriate setting of priorities Reassesses each treatment session and modifies treatment plans appropriately.

1.4 Provides effective patient and/or caregiver education.

1.5 Discharges patients from rehab care appropriately: when patient has met goals, shows plateau of progress, or is no longer authorized for treatment.

1.6 Prepares, maintains, and transmits accurate, complete, and timely patient records in accordance with regulatory guidelines, department and hospital standards.

1.7 Corresponds effectively with physicians, co-workers, and other interdisciplinary staff.

1.8 Maintains neat, organized workspace. Maintains clean common areas, including treatment rooms, waiting area, conference and staff room.

1.9 Accomplishes tasks within departmental established productive standards.

1.10 Submits charges for patient care accurately and in a timely manner.

1.11 Continuing Education: Keeps abreast of current trends and other developments in Rehabilitation as evidenced by participation and attendance of inservices, continuing education courses, and current professional publications. Sufficient CE hours for maintenance of licensure.

1.12 Educating/ Teaching: Provides education to patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members regularly as part of patient care.

1.13 Mentorship: Receive structured mentoring with a more senior staff member.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • New graduate without experience acceptable, unless a specific number of years required due to the needs of the department at the time of the appointment.

  • Masters and/or Baccalaureate degree from a school of Physical Therapy, accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Passing score on National Examination for PT. Board certified and licensed in CA

  • Board certified and licensed in CA. PHYSICAL THERAPST LIC APPLICNT (LIC PTLA);PHYSICAL THERAPIST (LIC PT);BASIC LIFE SUPPORT-AHA (CT CPRBLS)

Pay Range

$42.82 - $71.98/hour
